No, not always. It is critical to buy an air conditioner that is the correct size for your home. If you purchase an AC unit that is too large, it will cool your home faster, but it will also be less efficient and will not remove humidity effectively. It will have short cycle times. While it quickly cools the air, it will turn off before it has blown enough air across the indoor coil to drain the water from your system.
